About Tim Secrist
Founder and Owner of Allstar Construction
Tim started building homes over 20
years. Just after getting out of the service in 1980 Tim went to work remodeling homes
with his older brother. He enjoyed the work so much he stuck with it and started
contracting small jobs a year or two later. Tim signed his first contact to build a home
with Jim Walter Homes in in 1983. He has also built homes for Ryan Homes, Ryland Homes,
Oberer Homes and Barlow Homes, to name a few.
Tim does few things different from other carpenters that improve the quality and
structural integrity. For example he uses all solid headers above windows and doors. This
is done to ensure your drywall doesn't crack in the corners and your doors and windows
continue to open and close properly. His heritage causes him to take pride in all the work
he does.
When Tim was a child his grandfather was repairing dolls. One day Tim saw him put a penny
in a doll he was repairing. Tim ask why he did that. His grandfather said, I put a new
penny is every doll I repair so any who works on the doll will know that I repaired it and
the year I did so. To carry on to tradition Tim puts a penny in the somewhere in the of
every home he builds.
Tim also has architectural experience. So if you can draw a ruff floor plan he can do the
rest. In other words if it can be done Allstar Consturction can do it.
